[AIDS 2026] [aidsmap] Returning to HIV Care Does Not Erase the Effects of Treatment Interruption

А study, presented at the 26th International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2026) held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and virtually on 26-31 July 2026, showed that people with HIV in South Africa are ten times more likely to develop TB while interrupting antiretroviral treatment than while taking it. Even after resuming treatment and achieving viral suppression, their risk of developing TB remains 50% higher compared to those without treatment gaps.
