India’s TB control efforts evolved from the Revised National TB Control Program (RNTCP) to the current National TB Elimination Program (NTEP). While these initiatives improved case detection and treatment, progress remains hindered by drug-resistant TB, HIV co-infection, and private sector gaps. A review, published in Zoonoses, examined this strategic shift from control to elimination and highlighted the ongoing operational, infrastructural, and socioeconomic challenges that must be addressed to achieve domestic TB elimination goals.
