WHO: Gearing Up for World TB Day 2026

3 March 2026

World Health Organization announcement

The theme of World TB Day 2026 – ‘Yes! We Can End TB: Led by countries, powered by people’ – is a strong message of hope and urgency, that ending TB is achievable, even in today’s challenging global environment – if backed by leadership, investment, solidarity and decisive action. Aligned with this year’s theme, the World Health Organization (WHO) is urging immediate and decisive action across multiple fronts.

“World TB Day unites us under a clear message: ‘Yes! We Can End TB!’ This is a call for urgent action to restore momentum and decisively turn the tide against this epidemic, even amid today’s complex global challenges,” said Dr Tereza Kasaeva, Director of WHO’s Department for HIV, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis and Sexually Transmitted Infections. “What is required now is decisive leadership, strategic investment and rapid implementation of WHO recommendations and innovations. WHO remains steadfast in supporting countries to accelerate action and deliver measurable results that protect communities and save lives.”
