This World TB Day, as ever, the world has everything it needs to end TB in our lifetimes. Yet in 2024, 1,23 million people died of TB, indicating that TB persists as the world’s deadliest infectious disease.

TB cannot be ended by medical treatment alone, nor reliance on Ministries of Health or National TB Programmes. Ending TB requires a complex systems approach.
