A Health Policy article, published in The Lancet Child & Adolescent Health, outlined global research priorities and core principles to improve TB prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in children and adolescents. A rigorous consensus process identified eight core research principles and 21 priority research areas across the full TB care cascade. Each year, an estimated 1.9 million children and adolescents develop TB, and more than 95% of TB deaths in children occur among those who were never started on treatment.
