Cheat Sheets for TB Activists
13 December 2024
Treatment Action Group (TAG) developed four separate Cheat Sheets for TB Activists designed to help advocates navigate the range of tools in use and in the research pipeline.
The Cheat Sheet on “WHO-Recommended TB Screening & Diagnostic Tools” organizes available screening and diagnostic tools according to use case along the cascade of care and provides information on what level of the health system each tool should be available.
Using the same format and adding in stage of development, the Cheat Sheet “TB Screening & Diagnostic Tools Pipeline” provides advocates with a view of where new diagnostics could fit in.
“TB Vaccine Types Under Development” covers the basic science of how different vaccine types under development for TB work, and notes key considerations that may influence vaccine efficacy, safety, acceptance, and accessibility.
The “TB Prevention and Treatment Regimens” cheat sheet includes information on the duration, indicated population, composition, and price of WHO-recommended regimens, and drug-drug interactions with antiretrovirals to be aware of.
If you find these resources useful, they’re part of a larger self-paced online curriculum for community and civil society advocates looking to build skills to engage in TB research and policy advocacy — CABLab. CABLab was developed in partnership with regional community advisory board (rCAB) partners Afrocab, APCASO, and the Eurasian Community for Access to Treatment (ECAT) with support from the SMART4TB Project. You can register for CABLab here.
